Glenwood Canyon Rafting operates under special use permits with the White River National Forest, Colorado State Parks (Arkansas River Headwaters Area).
All or part of this operation is conducted on Public Lands under special permit from the U.S. Bureau of Land management.
All Lower Colorado river (Shoshone Rapids) and Roaring Fork trips offered through Glenwood Canyon Rafting a fully licensed and permitted outfitter.
We cater our trips according to your needs or requests. From whitewater thrills, group trips, family affairs, wedding parties, private trips or scenic tours. We can customize your needs. The majority of our trips meet at either 9am or 1pm daily. Our Full Day trips meet at either 8am or 9am depending upon the month and water levels, to be determined when making a reservation. If you have a group that requires a special time, please call us directly at: 877-384-0445.
Glenwood Canyon Rafting has an impeccable safety record. Our professional guides are certified in CPR and First Aid and meet all of the State of CO requirements; plus, a few of our own. They are trained in all aspects of river safety and will provide you with a complete safety orientation before launching on the river.
Glenwood Canyon Rafting, Inc. will do everything possible to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip. Because of the nature of outdoor adventure activities, we cannot be responsible for lost or damaged articles or personal injury. A signed Assumption of Risk Agreement will be required before departure. Anyone under 18 will require a parent or legal guardian to sign for them.

A signed Assumption of Risk will be required before departure. Anyone under 18 will require parental or legal guardian to sign. Please mention medical conditions at the time of booking or checking in for your trip, and bring personal medications (ie. inhaler, epinephrine pen, diabetic medication, etc.) with you on the river. Your guide will store these items for you in a water proof gear bag. REMINDER: If anyone in your party is under 18 and you are not the legal guardian, please bring a pre-signed signature by the parent or legal guardian with you at check-in time.
Class I: Slow moving water with riffles and small waves.
Class II: Straightforward rapids with wide clear channels which are evident without scouting.
Class III: Rapids with moderate to large waves. Complex maneuvers in fast current, large waves or holes may be present but can be easily avoided.
Class IV: Intense, powerful but predictable rapids requiring precise boat handling in turbulent water. Experience is recommended and swimming is a possibility.
Class V: Very aggressive rapids which paddlers are required to encounter reasonable endangerment. Large drops, unavoidable waves and holes or steep chutes with complex demanding routes, demanding a high level of fitness
Only the highest quality equipment: Hyside Inflatable 13 foot rafts, carries 5 to 6 rafters with certified guide & 16 foot rafts, carries 6-9 rafters with certified guide. Single and Double Inflatable Hyside Kayaks. Stearns Type 3/5 Coast Guard approved life jackets, carlisle oars and paddles and helmets available at all times. Paddle jackets/pants available. Neoprene booties and wet suits available to rent. Wear swim suit under wetsuit. Feel free to bring your own wetsuit or booties if you have them. Fleece is great for cooler days.
Payment is required to guarantee your reservation. A confirmation will be emailed detailing your rafting reservation. Individuals: We have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Cancellations outside of 48 hours of your scheduled trip time will receive a refund minus a $10 per person processing fee. Cancellations within 48 hours before the check-in time are not refundable. No shows are not refundable. Groups: Parties receiving a group discount greater than 10% are subject to a 14 day cancellation policy. Cancellations outside of 14 days of your scheduled trip time are refundable minus a $10 per person processing fee. Cancellations within 14 days to 48 hours of your scheduled trip time are subject to a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations within 48 hours of your scheduled trip time are not refundable. No shows are not refundable.
We welcome everyone young and old. Children’s minimum wt. 35-50 pounds depending upon water levels. Trips available for all levels of rafters, including those with a physical or mental handicap.
